Title: I need a valve adjustment.
Post by: guitarking135 on September 30, 2008, 08:22:09 AM
OK I have a 2006 gs and its running like crap. It just sounds like its starved but it also smells like gas I'm not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination so I was wondering could this be a valve adjustment problem cause it didn't start doing this til this year. its completely stock engine wise. So what do you think . BUUUUUUDDDDDAH!!!!!!

Check the the normal stuff, 99% of the time its fuel issue. Check float height, clean the carbs just to make sure. Mine needs new valve shims because i have already checked the clearance and the exhausts are out of spec. Much easier to look for the simplest and easiest solutions first. make sure fuel lines aren't leaking or kinked to inhibit flow, make sure air filter is clean, pull the plugs and read them to see if its rich or lean @ idle. The common stuff.
