This time its from Honda. Its the 919's baby brother, the 599 (Hornet 600 to everyone else). I think its a bit pricey for having no apparent adjustable fork but it sure does look purty

I'll take mine in asphalt thank you very much ;). Looks like it weighs in at about 400 pounds dry according to the site and that makes for a fun bike!
Now we'll have to see if Suzuki fires back with an updated Bandit. It might end up being the FZ6 next year if it seems like its the best package but the Hornet is a gooood looking bike. Maybe I should wait and see what my finances look like next year lol :nana:
Hmmmm Only a grand more than a 600 supersport bike and down on power and as ugly as the 919. Where do I sign up?
I mean really. My Honda dealer can't sell 919's for $7500! How do they expect to sell a 599 for 7k!
Maybe that's in Canadian dollars? :bs:
they're all just copying from suzuki. The GS was the original naked, well maybe that's not exactly true, but I"m a little biased here.
jake
Not bad -- I4 power with decent ergonomics. I'm sure it'll sell for a lot less than the MSRP.
could just wait until the end of the model year when they will be left with a whole s%^T load of them probably will end up selling for a much smaller price :thumb:
how the HELL did you find that?
I went to honda.com, checked out the 2004 preview, and there is no mention of the 599
In contrast to John, I kinda like the look of the 919. But it's a mediocre bike at best and certainly not worth the cash.
This version is already a few years on the European market. They are pretty popular here.
It's definitely not a beginner bike, way too much power.
I've been a passenger on the 919, (looks exactly the same, only bigger engine & twin exhaust under the tail. ) it's a reeeaaaally fast bike. 100 mph is reacheable in a few seconds. However, even with full throttle it keeps sounding like a vacuum cleaner :( It's a good bike, but it lacks emotion.
Aye chihuahua. This topic should come with some sort of warning...or at least a free bucket to throw up in. That bike is hideous. What's with that exhaust? Honda should stick to making lawnmowers and whipper-snippers. But that's just my opinion.
A 400+ lb. naked bike....ya that's gonna go over good.. :?

I like the 919's bulldog good looks. I think it pulls it off better than the Monster.
I saw my first Rune today. It was parked in Beverly Hills. It was all black and looked like a typical Harley fatboy type cruiser from a short distance. I thought it looked way better in the mags. It was just the opposite with the 919. :?
