Title: Whirring noise, almost a whistle in transmission.
Post by: Danny500 on October 03, 2008, 10:05:41 PM
Between 5500 and 6000 rpm my bike will whistle... any gear... any speed... not in Neutral at a stop though. So i think it may have to do with the output shaft... but it'll whistle really loudly in that 500rpm range.

Any hints as to what this could be? Wear? Just the way the gears are meshing?

Maybe it's the chain... do our bikes have a carrier bearing for the cush drive? or is it simply the wheel bearings and that's it? I'll have to make sure there's enough slack in the chain.
