I recently took the cover off of the front master cylinder to get a better look at the brake fluid and now it leaks.
The rubber gasket and plastic rectangle thing both appear to be in good shape so i can't figure out how to fix it.
It isn't a bad leak but just enough that after a long ride I have little spots of brake fluid splashed on my right hand.
Has this ever happened to anybody else? Are there any tips/tricks I should know about when putting the top back on?
I have tried reseating the gasket and the plastic thing, rotating them 180 degrees, switching the screws with eachother, putting the cover on backwards, and it still leaks a little. :dunno_white:
Thanks.

mine weeps a few drops whenever i crack the lid open. it quits after the brakes are used enough to warm up the fluid and make the magic fairies hold everything together tight again.
it could be that you have a pinhole in your gasket.
Duff gasket? Hairline cracks in the casing? Distorted lid? Leaky inspection window?
If you opened the lid, usually you'll find some residue underneath the gasket. Remove the rubber gasket, wipe down the gasket and cover with a clean rag. Put it back together. That should do it, unless something out of the ordinary is going on.
Good luck.
 Turns out it was the magic fairy, I did several emergency stops in a row today to heat up the fluid and when I got home no more leak.
Thanks for the advice.
