He came Friday and picked up my '78 CX500 and literally 1350lbs of Honda parts...enough spare motors, wheels, forks, wiring, etc to keep the bike on the road another 30 years...and in it's place he left:

Runs like a champ and it's a GS...1981 model, not my favorite at all but it's so close that I can't split hairs. Between my '78 GS750E and this one I've got enough trick parts and spares to get a good collection going. I've already swapped the stainless lines from the E to this one, as well as the progressive fork springs (and 20w oil), and I'm trying to figure out how to set up an oil cooler on this model. Eventually I'm going to swap all the body work from my E to it and trim the tail up...I want to do it like my CX where the bike just ends after the seat. Lots of other plans...can't wait to really get into it...especially the black paint...
So far she's at:
stainless lines
Kerker exhaust (I think that's kerker, but I can't be certain)
progressive springs and 20wt oil
K&N filters
Lawnmower battery conversion
I'm hoping to snag a katana front end before too long...
That's neat - it's an 1100, right?
It's a 750. I wouldn't get an 1100 unless it was a Katana...I don't know why but I just lust after the 750's. It's weird, though, because I would so transplant an 1100 into the 750 chassis without blinking...
Very nice looking bike.
congrats on your next cafe. we'll just be needin a video with a good MIC when ya get a chance aight ?
sure you don't wanna paint her yella ?
no yella...unless it's duc yella...but that would require a LOT of work to make work right. I tried yellow before...looked AWESOME in my mind but in real life not so much.
So you traded one crazy old ass fugly sheite for another ... so why gloat ... OK OK ...
GS is much much much more like a GS 500 ... like the shims are the same. :thumb:
Cool.
Buddha.
yeah but I hate hate hate shims haha. I'm seriously going to miss 10 minute valve check/adjustments.
