Title: 1999 GS500e FS -- SOLD!
Post by: oramac on October 05, 2008, 09:11:54 PM
My GS will go up for sale soon.  It has 21,000miles on it, but is better than average with wear.  You can see in my avatar that it has a Corbin seat, tank bra, and the oem quarter faring and chin spoiler.  The chin was an ebay basket case, and it could use a little more fiberglass and sanding.

MODIFICATIONS:  The forks have progressive springs, but need new seals...they weep a little right now, and it's due for a valve check.  It has a 15 tooth front sprocket.  I've installed a UNI drop in filter, and it's been rejetted, the stock exhaust has been extensively modified.  It has no rear fender at all, the rear tail light is flipped, and the rear turn signals have been relocated.  The grab bar and rim lips have been polished.  It has drag bars, but I have the oem bars as well.  It has Avons on it now.  The front tire is in good shape, but the rear will probably need replaced for next season.

It blue-books for $1900, but I'd let it go for no less than $1200 obo.  I know that people will be interested in the after market parts, but I really want to keep the bike in one piece right now to improve its marketability.  If it looks like I can't sell it, I may sell off the bolt on bits in February and use the stock bike for a trade.  The bike runs like a champ, has been a blast, and has never given me a single issue.  I plan to ride it through the end of the season, but interested parties can place 'dibs' on it if they choose.  I'd be willing to part with it by around November.

If it tells you anything...I will miss this bike!

My bike at deals gap this past June...

Hi there,
I'd be interested in your chin fairing/under-engine cowling if you sell it separately. I might also be intrigued by the quarter-fairing on the headlight, too.
Let me know if you want to sell them.
Thanks,
Trwhouse

umm...yeah...

I might consider selling off the aftermarket parts.  But, I'm in NO way parting out the bike.  If I can't sell the bike whole, i'm trading it in on my next bike.  The only parts I would even remotely consider selling individually would  be the quarter faring, the belly faring, the tank bra, and maybe the corbin seat (with trade for an oem seat and shipping).  I'll let you all know when I get to that point.

bumpity, bump.  c'mon people.  someone needs to buy this bike.  I'd like to see it find a good home, but if not I'll strip down the aftermarket parts, sell those, and trade the stock bike.  Let me know if you're interested.  Time is winding down.  I plan to buy my next bike in February or March.

The time to sell is March, the time to buy October... you get better prices that way ...

bump for a clean gs :)

Gorgeous bike man, I'm interested. Depends on how close to feb you plan on selling, how much it'd cost to rent a truck and trailer to go get it (don't have my liscense and haven't taken the brc yet), and whether you'd be willing to meet me half way? Once i get my income tax i'll be all over this, if you get other offers before i get the money in hand i'd understand though. Until then consider me an interested party lol.

:edit: ok i looked up the cost to rent a truck from uhaul, it's like $400 to rent the truck and the trailer w/ mileage costs. so i'll have to find someone with a truck to come with if i'd go get it. Guess it all depends on whether i can con someone with a truck to go that far.

I'll post up if I get any other interest.  Otherwise, if you can work it out...it is here.

Tape off the inner part of the wheel, and spray aircraft paint remover on the lip.  Wait a few minutes, wipe off the unwanted paint, then rinse with water.  Easy!  Get the paint remover at autozone, advance auto, etc.

Okay...not sold per se.  I traded it on my 2004 SV1000s.  Ironically, in the week after I traded the bike off, I had three different people contact me about buying my bike.  Ah well.  The dealer gave me what I wanted for it, so I can't complain.
