Title: OK Jet packs - you guys want a full blown kit like factory used to do or ?
Post by: The Buddha on October 06, 2008, 01:01:05 PM
Should I make a 1 complete jet pack ... or stay with the current method.

Currently You have to ask the Buddha, and the buddha will spew some BS. Then you'd ask the buddha for a way to pay ... and Buddha give you paypal ... then you wait and wait and wait and wait ... Then sometime a year or so later buddha will send you a very tacky looking packet with some bits in it.

With new method ... there is 1 pack fits all ... Stock air box and pipe or no pipe, K&N in airbox and pipe, and K&N lunchbox and pipe. Instructions and when you use what etc etc will be in a sheet of paper all of it in a box, ready to ship. You pay and buddha's send it. It will happen in no time, especially if I do a few and figure out postage for it, I'll do it right out of my home mail box.
I will buy all jets and bolts and crap in advance and pack them all in a little box. You just hold on to the other jets, and swap if you're going up in air flow ...
It will cost more - figure atleast $35 and more for shipping ... Depends on cost of a nice partitioned box really. I hate the overhead ... a box where a baggie will do, a extra 4 sets of jets when you need just 1 and I would hate the personal touch. However I can cut down on delays, I suddenly realise I am out of this or that ... I am down to the last few boxes and I know I have to restock ... now I am never aware of what will be ordered, I am running low on 125 but no one bought those in a few weeks ... I dunno - you guys post and I'll see. But you guys want to run stock now, but do K&N later ... that sort, its easier with paper instructions and all the jets right at your hand.
Cool.
Buddha.

hmm, well I just got my jet kit today, I think I asked you for it about 10 days ago thats not bad at all considering the low amount you charged for it.  I dont think the box and extra jets and such are necessary unless that makes it easier for you, I think the little bag worked just fine.  The sheet with instructions would be nice though, although the poor mans rejetting pictorial is pretty good, well see how good when I attempt to install jet kit.

On an 01 or 04+ ... well either way the cost is $28 shipped, but I am figuring out washers ... I had some ones that didn't fit ...
Now, anyone know the resale market for #3 washers, I seem to have a 100 or so in a baggie ...
Cool.

I gotta be honest...jet kits weren't the first thing that came to my mind when you wrote "jet packs" in the title.

I think keeping several of these various kits on hand is a great idea. (taylored to fit your set up) However, it does not make a lot of sense to put them in a box and pay extra for shipping when they can all fit in a small padded envelope and only cost $1.34 to ship. You could even fit a sheet of directions in that envelope too.

PS: I am satisfied so far with the 20/65/147.5's you sent me this weekend but I am still running my lunchbox with a stock exhaust untill my Yoshi pipe gets here tomorrow and I can have it welded on. Aside from getting the wrong size washers by mistake, I am satisfied with the timeframe of our transaction. Please let me know as soon as you get the correct size #3 washers so I can give them a shot. Thanks!!

I think the only thing that would make the kit better would be to include 4 upper allen bolts along with the 8 lower bolts you sent...no big deal but it saves an extra trip to the hardware store. Just a thought.

So this kit would include:
1. Jets for your application
2. Washers depending on application
3. 8 lower allen screws
4. 4 upper allen screws

(I meant to update my old post...oops.)

You may be right about running washers with 65 mids but I still think it would be fun to try just for the hell of it. If it runs worse, I can pull them off without removing the carbs again. Thanks Buddha. ;)

I dont have upper allens for anything ... Usually you're not supposed to crank them down till they turn blue ... Just about finger tight ... its holding down a plastic cap.
All 8 are for lower ... bowls.
Now the kit does have all this as of now and pilots too. If I make a full blown kit, it will include 2 more mains and I will put em in a box and have em ready to ship. It will ship faster ...
Cool.

Oh yea these are jet packs ... like those kinda jet packs ... see that pilot jet dont it look just like a rocket ... it hoeever works a little differently.
You shove it up your A$$ ... then you fart ... but it wont let out the fart till it builds to the escape pressure. At that point as it releases you light it up as it comes out ... then you'll just fly.
You'd say ... fat people will need higher power so how does your jet pack know ... OK fat people will also fart more ... so building it faster = more power. Fool proof ... you cannot get more power than these jet packs.
Cool.

WEll Dynojet is what $85.  And your gonna do up a kit to fit multiple applications with detailed descriptions I guess sorted by year model. For less than $50 shipped, I'd buy one. you can even cut down on the cost by using little bitty zip lock bags and numbering them with a marker. You can get a pack of a 100 or so cheap at wal-mart or a sewing supply store, we used to use them for "OTHER" applications.

You were serious ... OK 125/40 1 washer and 3 turns ?
Want a kit - send $$.

Chanse: Dont compare my jet pack to to DJ. I dont have their advertising budget ... and I dont have to confuse y'all by putting funky numbers on crap ... and their instructions are great ... if their product actually worked ... The only comparison is ... do I do jet packs like I do now ... you ask like yamahon did, and I send you that specific numbers only, or, do I do 1 kit with all the jets you'd need ... and just take more $ and toss it in the mail ... now the method I do, takes up more of my time. I pick and pack the jets depending on your needs only. There isn't any pre packed set I send off. Should I start doing a pre packed set is my Q.

I must have misread or mis understood I figured you would package multiple jets in one package with instructions. For instance I order a kit for  a 2007. you pull a (what is it '04 +)  kit and send it on its way. Then I get it open it up and look at the instructions and say I have exhaust, and lunchbox. I pull bags 1,3, and 4. The other jets remain and If I change my combo I replace them and look up the instructions and pull the next set. I would pay the same price as "Dyno jets for that" is what I meant.

Yea, that idea is dead, I dont like the extra cost and the extra shipping. Most people dont care for the delay, not too bad they said. Forget it. same old method.
