Title: WTB: forks for 2004 GS500F
Post by: jrains89 on October 09, 2008, 10:09:49 AM
So I'm buying a gs500f with 256 miles on it and it will be at my house this weekend. The only thing wrong with the bike is that the front forks are bent. I don't know if any other model bikes' forks can be used but I need something to replace the bent ones on my bike. I got this bike for a RIDICULOUS deal, super cheap because nobody wanted a bike with broken forks, even though the bike is basically brand new.

Kat FE swap ... 350-400 bucks or so.
I've done quite a few swaps ... but its not a really easy one where I am comfortable with mailing it to someone ... unless they were very mechanically inclined.
Cool.

Hey there,

You'll find forks.
Older ones will also fit but the newer ones have the nice lowers with the rubber fork leg protectors at the top.
Best wishes,
Trwhouse

Those rubber protectors can be fitted ot old or new. The 04+ ones have a hex nut aluminum cap on top. The older ones have a steel one with a 1/2 inch ratchet slot in it. If you wanna lower it by pushing in the legs, old ones will give you and extra 1/2 inch. Else they are the same.
Cool.
