I think it's brazilian.  I don't know anything about it though.  It would be a Buddha Loves You on shipping costs.

that is a nice sound. wonder if a group buy would get the cost down.

i'd bet you could get 10 people interested from the sound on that video.

yep, portuguese, its a brasilian site.... R means reales, current brasilian denomination.

carbon fiber = 1,106.00 reales  = 481.773 USD
aluminium    =   487.00  reales  =  210.850 USD

1 real = 0.432956 usd /  1 usd = 2.30970 real

If the shipping cost is reasonable, count me in.
(Is that a full system for sure?)

I agree with all of you that the sound is nice, but take into consideration that the video is shot inside of a garage or some room,
this amplifies the sound and prolly distort it too  :thumb:

if you speak same language as the person who posted the video you could ask him to make another video outside, just for comparison

cheers

Here's another vid with the 500 & WACS. Vid quality isn't that great but it is outside, well partially.

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=qw0JgGhPk84&NR=1

If a full system and reasonable shipping I'd be down with a purchase.

even the rough vid sounds amazing. if there is a way to get this exhuast for even the same price as say the jardine system i think id buy this cause it sounds better and its waaay more unique. ill let you know if i get a reply from them. if anyone can help figure this out better than me it would be really appreciated.

ok so a group buy would be doable now we just need a portugese guy to talk them into shipping stuff to us. god i wish this was easier. i want this exhuast so bad!!1
Title: Re: anyone ever heard of this exhuast?
Post by: Bluesmudge on October 11, 2008, 01:22:56 AM
Have you heard back from them about the group buy or are you just saying we have enough people now?
I emailed them in english hoping they might want to translate it. I didn't want to use an online translator because you never know what the translation is saying.

Depending on shipping cost, I might be in.

Hi by the way, if you haven't seen my first post in the For Sale forum, I ride a '06 GS500F and I'm new to the forum. Hello everyone!

i havent recieved an email yet. if you can order from them with decent shipping costs that would be ok. but if we could get a discount from a group buy i think that would be better. does anyone here speak portugese? lol
Title: Re: anyone ever heard of this exhuast?

I would definitely be down for that!  (provided the shipping costs aren't too bad...) let us know if you get an email!  I would be even more excited if there was a discount for a group buy.
Title: Re: anyone ever heard of this exhuast?
Post by: hotrodstu77 on October 13, 2008, 09:53:28 AM
i dont think they are gonna get back to me. ill try again. ill try calling them too. from what i can tell from their site its like 200 ish for the exhuast and like another 200 for shipping but it looks like if you order 3 or more parcels the shipping turns to like 40 bucks or something. im probably wrong but im hoping we can make this work and if i can get a group buy then ill post a group buy and have everyone sign up.

I'd been watching this thread and was anxious to hear the out come of shipping, but since that seemed to be taking a little while I contacted them myself....and here's the response:

Dear Drew Lighthill,

Complete exhaust (collector of steel carbon chrome-plated  + oval muffler of aluminum) for GS 500 cost US$ 276.97
Complete exhaust (collector of steel carbon chrome-plated  + oval muffler of fiber of carbon) for GS 500 cost US$ 618.34
Unitary value.
The shipping, I still lucking for a cheaper one.
By Mail: EMS (3 to 5 days) US$ 391.00 it one
Economical (15 to 30 days) US$ 274.00 it one
FedEx: 2 to 4 days US$ 518.00
I'm seeking a dispatcher customs officer (I don't know if it is like that you call in English), I believe that it is cheapper, but you will have to remove at the airport or port.
To know the price, I need to know your city and state.
If you know a best way...

Atenciosamente,

Ronaldo Perini

Yeah, neither do I.
I have never been involved in a group buy and don't know 1) how the money will be gathered and sent to the company and 2) how the items will be shipped to the participants (sent to one central location and then distributed or sent to each individual location)
These are probably good things to find out before we make anything final.

Are we talking 400 bucks to ship 12-20 complete kits? Because that's not overly crazy. That's only 20 bucks a pipe.

Same here.. I think we should keep our money for the sure thing.. If they want to find an business that will carry their products in the US.. then I would buy from that US based importer.
Now who knows someone that will become an importer of this exhaust system? LOL

After closer inspection and looking at OTHER videos on YouTube of that exhaust... it sounds and looks EXACTLY like the Jardine full system.

Just my thoughts... but check these out... you be the judge.

GS500 Jardine Full: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ncIcagdz6o (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ncIcagdz6o)

GS500 WACS Full: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmi5_0Yuw2M (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmi5_0Yuw2M)

I dunno, sounds pretty close.

I think the WACS sounds distinctively better than the Jardine, but when options are limited.
On another note.. did anyone notice the rear wheel on the bike with the WACS??? I wonder if that guy ever makes turns?

I think it's a tad... TAD.. deeper, but I also think it depends on where that video was taken... in a garage it's gonna sound HUGE compared to outside.  :cookoo:

That, and I did notice the 3 inch chicken-strips on that rear wheel.. lol. Maybe it was just washed and he rolled it there for the vid.

I think I'll save my moula for a jardine though.. or a good slip-on.  :dunno_white:

Is it worth it?

Vance and Hines still sells their the Super Sport exhaust pn 12029 for $330.95.  Gives the bike a nice tone, add a db killer if its too much for you.
