Title: Does this look bad to you?
Post by: Skeets on October 12, 2008, 04:37:57 PM
So today I decided to see what my bike would look like without farings, and too put on a mini grill. When taking off one of them, I see rust or some brownish looking crap under neath the spark plug.

Looks like this:

It's not bad. It's simply the fact that it's a steel plug, in a steel insert in the aluminum head. (In other words... it rusts.) Try to clean most of it off with the plug in the motor as to not get any dust/debris from sanding/scraping into the chamber.

Thanks. It kinda sucks because I just bought new spark plugs off line. Oh well, nothing like new spark plugs :)

You'd have to go to a motorport/boat shop to get them. Any local dealer will have them in stock.
