Title: An experiment...
Post by: makenzie71 on October 22, 2008, 05:56:11 PM
Okay, lets gather some opinions.

I'm looking to make a list of things that people feel should automatically disqualify a person from being eligible for the presidency of the United States of America.  Everyone list ONE thing that you believe should automatically disqualify someone's eligibility.  Just one.  There's no need to debate, contradict, or justify yours or the comments of anyone else here as there will be a follow up thread after I've gained between 100 and 200 (or hopefully more) responses.

Please look to see if your idea has been stated.  It does not have to be stated ver batim.  However, if there are even slight or vague fundamental differences in your idea and one posted, feel free to ignore the comment and post your own.  If your idea is fundamentally identical to one already posted, please think of another (no need for repetition).

Things not acceptable are those which have no sole bearing on a person's ability to perform a public task efficiently such as "can't be black" or "can't be homosexual" or "can't be a woman" et cetera.  Specific people are also not valid disqualifications.

For my own personal contribution:

An individual who has ran for a previous office other than the presidency, who publicly slandered his opponents or opposition in any fashion, should not be qualified.

Can't get through an interview with a hard-hitting journalist like Katie Couric without looking like a total dumbass.
