I've been sputtering like i'm running out of gas at 160 miles on the tach. I switch to RES and it runs fine for almost another 100 miles. Fill the tank, same thing. Is it because my bike is so low and the tank is leaning forward? I'm stuck, what do you guys think? Lines are clear, petcock is good. Chef
Just an "iffy" guess or two: Fuel tank not venting properly, or low vacuum.

Low vacuum as in position or pressure? Thanks

pressure
crack the filler a bit and see if the bike runs proper again
What ... you switch from main to reserve ... OK so what is the problem ?
Its called fuel consumption ... you run out of main and you switch to reserve.
Cool.
Buddha.

160 miles seems like low mileage to run out of gas, unless your real heavy on the throtle. Even if you switch to reserve, it wouldn't take you another 100 miles if it were a low fuel issue.
Thats what i'm saying, i run another 100+ miles on RES, it seems different than before.
160 is more than my gs gets and im beating the shaZam! out of it. main gets 120 and another 60 or so from res. your bike seems fine. mpg isnt going to stay the same it will change from fill up to another.
