Title: Rear brakes - how loose is your plastic brake pad cover?
Post by: Berowra on November 02, 2008, 01:41:45 AM
Folks,

I just changed my rear pads for the first time (Ferodo FDB338 Platinum - AU$48) and found that when I replaced my brake pad cover, it wasn't a tight fit.  I couldn't remember how tight it was when I removed it.  I went for a run today to check the rear pads and found the cover had tightened up a little, but it still had a little play.

How loose should the cover be?

Has anyone ever heard or had one fall off?

if it goes , no big deal. that just keeps brake dust from flying UP and out of the caliper.

mine was pretty loose, but i heated it and bent the keeper tab over a little. :)
