Title: possible ebay bid sniper alert
Post by: yamahonkawazuki on September 14, 2003, 07:34:24 PM
i am claiming dibs on the metric speedo
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35580&item=2432525798 but an ebay id "skip.p"keeps popping up. that is also who beat me out of the ign. switch assy. so i also bid on tach. from same seller, to see if this person tries again. i may be just jumpy, but i thought i'd let y'all know just in case :(

Well man ...bidding is kind of like racing... You only have to be in first when you cross the finish line on the last lap.

Ask anyone that frequents "real live" auctions in person...They'll tell you friendship ends at the gate....

Anyway I emailed you about an ignition switch....

I've been called a sniper many times on Ebay...and I always thank the person who says it to me.  :)

What's the point of driving up the price by bidding early? I always wait until the last 7 seconds personally. I want to get the item, but for a little as possible. If that is sniping, well, it only makes sense to me.

Of course I did screw up and miss getting Rashad's cases yesterday. Such are the dangers....

If it's the same seller and bidder as the last auction, the seller could be doing it himself.
Or has a friend driving the price up for him.
Sometimes putting in a bid early will keep the seller from stopping the auction early. But don't respond to any outbid notices and come in at the last moment and snag the item.

yeah, i see your points (all of them), im just an impulsive person. most people around here, would see the 200 on the gauge set, and wonder. they wouldnt look closely and see the km/h at the bottom  just another question here, what would be a fair price to pay for this item? ive enver bought one before...
