http://picasaweb.google.com/srinath.the.man/ForkBraces# < - I dunno why I am not seeing that previous pic. These pics of course work ...
Anyway, They are 1/2 inch thick.
SS allen button head bolts - similar to stock but longer and better, included for fender and leg.
The braces are 6061 so they can be polished easy. I did a 2 min job with sand paper on the one and it looks great.
Recently psyber_optix got one from an easlier batch. Ask him for comments.
Cool.
Buddha.
What do these do? I'm confused :cookoo:
It should prevent the forks from flexing and therefore improve handling. Also it's got some bling factor. O0
fixed it

joo gotsta put the -open bracket img close bracket- then your image source then -open bracket /img close bracket- around it ;)
oh, and if ya use picasa you can change the 's460' or 's600' to 's800' and it will be bigger. 800 pixels seems to be the largest they'll serve up. :)
Thanks Oh good.
These basically prevent the forks from flexing or splaying under braking .
These also fit a katana 600/750. The forkbraces are the same on both GS and Kats.
Cool.

BTW these have one insanely cool function as well ... now since I have not actually implemented it, I cant show a real pic or somehting ... I'll put a pic up, and you guys use your imagination that it is working ... :thumb:
But you take a hydraulic column off a shock ... you could use a kat/GS one which I will put up a pic in a few days with a mock ... or fit like a single virago rear shock, It has duals ... take just the fluid column (remove spring) and make a eyelet or somehting on the fork and a fitting inside the steering tube with a sorta pivoting mechanism ... and use it for damping ... screw the leaky forks ... forks have spring and the hydraulics are in this ...
Will it work, how good, will it end up looking stupid like a harley springer with the hydraulic BS hanging by the headlight ... good questions ... all good questions ...
Cool.

The other question: when are you going to do it?
The pic or the actual hydraulic fitting on the fork ...
The pic I may do today ... cos I have the kat shocks split and lying about and I have a GS with the brace as well ... so I'll toss it on and take a pic.
Hydraulics from the steering stem to the brace - I doubt I am ever doing it, I am going to katana FE's on many of my GS'es.
These braces are all I am selling, I dont know what or how or anything about fitting a shock in the area between the stem and the brace and I dont know what shock will work either.
I will put a pic up if it will even fit in that area with a kat shock body sitting in the area between the stem and brace. But that's all, I cant source the shock nor can I say what does what. Someone here may ... maybe it will become the new gstwin standard. No clue ...
For now, this is a fork brace, if it will carry a shock, and what it will carry is still TBD.
Cool.
Buddha.
it works for me. I have one of the original don dadas
Diaz
O0
Me to, I just wanted to see a GS springer front end. The picture in my head is good, but seeing the real deal would be way better O0
Yea OK in a day or 2 ... I need to get home before dark, then I'll throw a kat shock body and get a pic.
Dunno if it works though ... fit is first working is next ...
Cool.
Buddha.
I dunno why these pics never show when I did it.
Maybe the picasa site cant be embedded. Dunno, dont understand zees computeors ... :icon_twisted:
Cool.
Buddha.
These are still around, I made a good few of them, there is more than just these 2 in the pic.
They really improve handling and they fit kat FE's as well, so a FE swap in your future ... you can move these over.
In the old days tele-fix braces were the schnitz ... these are the GS specific ones that work much better on these than a telefix.
They can be polished and what not, like I 1/2 heartedly did that one in the pic.
The bolts you see are stainless and are included. Just like stock but 1/2 inch longer.
Price includes shipping. 40 bucks to your door.
Cool.
Buddha.
pm you duddha to see if you still have then in stock
I got em. Pm replied.
And yes guys orderup, remember when these are gone ... well, I could make more but with all the projects piling up dunno when. So ... yea buy now before these turn into a pumpkin.
Cool.
Buddha.
Call Jeff and "convince" him to get one. He doesn't have one at all on the orange Kat. Now the blue Kat is a whole nother ball of wax. We really need to get together. What's up with the Ken?
I sent the ken a pm one about where to go for snow fun and one about meeting sometime and I even said I had some cool stuff going on we can play with. I got a handle on working on it, just for eyecandy and messing with.
The ken replied to the sno email and ignored the other one.
Maybe we should do it at my place but its another 100 miles for you and I am not even close to as organised as the ken or have the room. I have to do driveway. Anything is anywhere, and some of it is even alive and most likely will take a bite at you.
Ironically kat doesn't need the beefy brace really. Yea it can help but the forks dont twist cos its got 2 disks. Unless one caliper is waaaaaay off as in ... not even working its possibly not going to wiggle side to side. Of course a kat/gs brace also holds the fender on and well, he should have it.
Cool.
Buddha.
payment sent buddha! check your paypal!
thx
These are back. Bolt guy just called, the smaller bolts are in and I had the bigger bolts ... so 40 shipped in lower 48.
Now this set is extra dirty, but they all clean up nice ... I think I'd spray clean em and wd 40 them and send em.
Cool.

Get your machinist to deck that top surface and clean up the long edges to remove the stock ink/wear. It will look just like the short edge....no further finishing necessary.
400 grit paper will take it off in seconds, spray wd40 and do with 1000 and then 2000 and then steel wool and it looks like a mirror.
I think decking it is a bit radical ... Lemme do this to 1 and see how much work it is. I may just do em all, setting up for the job is 90% of the work, get that done and you might as well do em all.
Cool.
Buddha.
Fresh set of these are back.
Very cool, its my favorite mod if you got stock forks. I did this to my 89, 2 months after buying it in 95. I always ran one on mine till I went kat FE crazy.
$40 shipped in US, and will combine with other stuff for $5 off shipping ... so $35 with other bigger stuff. Even your carbs ... But well, logically, the smaller object will ship free of course. Say you buy jets and this, you get $2 0ff its shipping but pay shipping on the bigger stuff.
Cool.
Buddha.
PM'ng you.
These are available as well. Just had a dozen made. Sold 2 so 10 left.
Order with other things and you only pay shipping for the largest item. Smaller ones ride free.
Cool.
Buddha.
do you have this now to ship?? i need them in 2 weeks. if that is possible i will buy. i will send pm.
Got 10 sitting in a box with both sizes of stock like bolts in stainless and longer to fit ...
OK 9 after yours is sent.
Remember though that pic was one that was sanded a bit. It may be dirtyier, but a 2 min sanding with 400-1000 grit will get it shiny.
Cool.
Buddha.
I got one and I like it, would recommend.
Gotta sell em to raise $$$ for the case guards.
Cool.

Buddha, PM'd.
Still have some left Buddha?
-Jessie
Yes I do.
I'll post saying 1-2 left and all gone, more to be made etc etc as the stock runs low/out.
Cool.
Buddha.

-Jessie

10 for say $320 and mailing (if its 1 address I mail to, I'll mail it free cos it will get into a USPS $10 box), but I have to make some more then, so it may be a short wait. I got the material though, so may be very short wait.
Bluehaze - I got a very clean first set. Your brace came from a set that was pretty dirty. Sorry. But of course sanding it will get it all out dirt and the printing etc etc.
Cool.
Buddha.
So these will cut out any 'weave' thru fast sweeping corners when bike is being 'ridden hard' ? & stabilize the front end in general ? Yes ?
& any still in stock? If so, would you post to Australia, NSW, 236 ? & at what cost ?
Thanks
:)
Yes in stock, and shipping is ~$12 to australia ... make that ~$13. Yea got some ugly forms to fill whihc I will do, patience is one of my virtues.
Weave ... well, it usually has its biggest effect under braking I feel. So if your problem is worse under braking than when not, it would make the 2 about equal if that makes sense.
Anyway, I'd send to Au for 48 USD shipped.
Cool.
Buddha.
^^^^ Sweet as Buddha.....PM some banking details, & I will get the money to you ASAP .
Cheers
:)
Hey Buddha,
Do you have any of these left? PM me with details.
Thanks
I have em.
Pm comming your way.
Cool.
Srinath.
does anyone have a pic to post with this installed?
