Title: sv650 sub frame on a gs500
Post by: guitarking135 on November 07, 2008, 11:47:22 AM
OK so I know some of you guys have or have had a sv of some sort. I seen a subframe on craigslist today for sale. With out being able to compare them side by side is there a way to use that subframe on the gs to give you that split seat look? is is even possible I mean like size differences and stuff and info would be great. It was an idea I had but don't know if it will work

If its pretty cheap buy it and let us know. Check price with avg. EBAY listing. That will give ya a clue.

It is possible to make it fit. You will need to fabricate top & bottom brackets. The SV subframe is narrower at the bottom by about 1" each side and the top is narrower by about 2-3" per side. To get all of the SV parts for a complete tail may cost around $200 or more... subframe, both seats, brake light, inner fender, tail plastics (left, right & rear), rubber bushings to mount plastics, rear pegs, seat lock, grab handle... also, may need to fabricate a bracket for the exhaust.

his still got it its 20 bucks and comes with the taillight i'm thinking about getting it and seeing about making it fit. if theres about and inch difference then I may just be able to use it for the parts needed to make a 2 up seating with a r6 tail....
