14,000 Miles few small cosmetic issues but in good shape otherwise, $1700 seems a lil high but it does seem to be a rare bike. I did a lot of searching and didnt really find what years these were available in the states. They kinda look like our gs500e, they look rather small though, the guys that is selling it is 6'1 and made it look like a toy. I also want to know if the bandit 600 ever came to the states, I saw a few for sale but thats it, and is the engine any different than the gsxr?
Bandit 600 is almost same as katana 600.
Bandit 400 is water cooled with a 15K redline. A buzzy little engine that could, lifted out of the GSXR 400.
400 is rare, 600 is not, 400 also shares very very little with the GS and all the parts are near impossible to find.
Fun bike though.
Cool.

simply put its a cool little bike that can and will. I'd love to own one myself. a 400cc standard that has performance like that would rule for the twisties.
I dont see why the 400 bandit will be any better than the GS ... GS is lighter and narrower. The B4 revs and make power higher up ... not neccesarily more power or torque, and has wider tars ... I'd say its a wash ...
Cool.

Very cool bike, slowly becoming something of a collectors item. On the down side very few were sold here so parts can be hard to come by.
The 600 Bandit came later, and they sold more of them. Nothing really special about that bike though.

i've heard the 400, once, it's sweeeet. :)
So does anyone know what years and how many were brought to the states, and should this still be pretty cheap on insurance? Im gonna google it again for a while but google gets paid to post other bs its hard to find real facts. A bandit is more of a naked bike and is water cooled compared to the katana, I just found a nice 95 katana 750 for $1200 so I might just go with that I also found a couple cheap 94 katana 600's.

It was only 2-3 years IIRC, and they didn't sell very many of them. Also, it's not water-cooled, it's oil-air cooled like the Katana 600 and early GSX-Rs
Bandit 400 was water cooled. It was a jap only GSXR 400 in a standard chassis.
