Anyone know if its legal to ride a bike in Texas without front signal markers ?? :dunno_white:

I hope not. Sounds like a great way to promote accidents.
Brooklyn far as i know it's legal. back in my harley days turnsignals were one of the first things to come off a "dresser".
horn, headlight/taillight/brakelight/license light and rearview mirror as best as i remember are the only legal requirments
(also rear pegs/passenger pegs if the bike had a passenger seat)
Might be, it varies from state to state. I wouldn't recommend it for any period of time though. If you happened to be waiting for new turn signals in the mail or something like that, it might be ok, but I wouldn't make a habit of it. Be careful and use lots of hand signals...
broke my dang right side front signal and cant disassemble the 1 from my parts bike from its holder ( 1 stupid nut )
anyways ... i'll find some way of getting it off of the bracket.
Thanks guys and galz

also w/o hand signal usage, oncoming traffic wont know which way you were intending to turn, IF you were intending to turn that is. :thumb:
In NC, if they are there, it has to work.
Cool.
Buddha.
Chances are its illegal to run without them. Down here, if you have signals, you have to have ALL 4(FOUR) signals, and ALL must function, otherwise you have to have no signals. look up your state statutes on this.
I just looked at an online reference for Texas motorcycle requirements and it looks like it is ILLEGAL to ride without front and rear signals working.
Even if it's not illegal, WHY would you want to? Do you have a death wish?

good point. imsure there are some stockers either here in the classifieds or on egay for sale
yup, I kinda figured that riding without them was illegal.
dropped my bike ( while parked ) and broke right side signal light , extra from parts bike is stuck to the brace that holds it , the nut is rusted to it , giving me a hella hard time . i'll put it on ... when i can get it off , lol.

Yeah. That says needs to have turn signals on all post-1960's bikes. I figured it would be something like that since you need your bike inspected, and they always check the turn signals as a matter of course.

eh, I didn't bother putting mine back on, and there's no way I trust the average driver to see that I'm turning anyway. If I'm facing them, I can figure it out. Rear signals OTOH, I'll keep those!
I live in Texas and I was able to get inspected and pass my class M license test with no front signals.
I had to use hand signals on the driving test but they didn't give me any trouble about it.
As far as legality is concerned i'm not sure but I am not worried about getting a ticket for it.
