Title: Fresh tune up
Post by: qwertydude on November 26, 2008, 04:29:49 PM
Well I'm just about to leave to pick up my bike from the shop. Had the valves adjusted and spark plugs replaced. At 24,000 miles I figured I should probably get them adjusted cause they've never been adjusted previously and while they're at it some new plugs wouldn't hurt either.  I'm amazed because even with all those miles there wasn't any sign that it actually needed it like a rough idle, valve noise, or hard starting. Just how far can you go til you get the bad stuff going on?

just curious, how much does it cost to have the valves adjusted?

I got valves adjusted for $150 and spark plugs replaced with no added labor, just cost of the plugs. Total for the tuneup was $158. Amazingly enough only one valve was out of spec by just .002"
