I did a search before asking this, the last post on this topic was back in June, so I thought I'd reach out and see what you thought.
Problem #1: Ugly ass pink sticker on my '93 GS tank.
Options: (A) Scrape off sticker. This is a problem because it appears the sticker is under the clear coat.
(B) Repaint Tank. This is coming, but its going to be a while before I'm comfy doing my painting.
(C) Find a tank bra that covers the ugly ass pink sticker.
With option (c) in mind, anybody have a decent spot to get ahold of a tank bra that covers the sticker? I have done a ton of internet searching and have come up dry for what I want.
On this topic, I'd be interested to see what saddlebags folks are using for commutes, and if there were any to avoid.
Thanks!
what pink sticker is this ? pictures ? are you certain it was cleared over at the factory ?
I feel like the Suzuki emblem and that design under it were pink or close to it in '93. Could just be my imagination though.
My bike's the one in this thread http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=45412.20 with the plate of thanksgiving on the seat. Its the factory suzuki sticker on the tank, with the ugly pink deal behind it. It just annoys me.
This guy got a tank bra from a French company. You might want to email them to see if they have one for the older style tank.

Saddlebags-
I have a pair of soft sided Nelson Rigg Silver Streak Mini Sport bags (SSC-140) and I really like them. I got a really good deal on ebay for a new set for under $100. JC Whitney has a decent price for them, and they probably have some holiday / off season prices coming up. They also have an all black version
#CL 900, both styles also come one size larger. I'm at work and cant get a picture posted, but nelsonrigg.com is a good place to start. Those along with my Joe Rocket Manta tank bag are plenty for day trips. If I need more cargo space I just run my backpack straps under the saddlebag straps and POOF instant tailbag...works great :thumb:
Coretech sport bags FTW.

By the way, I heard back from that French company re: the full tank covers. No luck, they don't make them for pre 2002 GS500s.

I wonder if you could show pictures of that tank cover to an upholstery show and have them make you a copy that fit your tank directly... I'd imagine they could basically cut the fabric to directly match the seams in the tank... Don't know how much it would cost though.
I got the Nelson-Rigg deluxe saddle bags for $75 at NewEnough.com last year and they work great. My favorite thing is the Rapid Transit tank bag. I got it at the Kawi dealership but can be got on the net.

I love all the pockets, MP3 holder, cell phone, it turns into a backpack, magnetic flaps fold up into it, built in rain hood, and my favorite in the summer a place to put a camel back so you can have a cool beverage on you at all times!
hope this helps.
