Title: bar end mirrors with clip ons?
Post by: grayghost on December 02, 2008, 10:15:51 AM
anyone had any experience running bar end mirrors with clip on bars? i'm trying to lower the overall front profile of my 97, have replaced the stock mirrors with bar ends (which i like real well- less vibration, better visibility, plus look way better in my opinion), but thinking about clip ons and don't know how these mirrors would work in that set up.

I recently picked up a pair of bar end mirrors from Motostrano.com        http://www.motostrano.com/nabarendmi.html

They seem to be made well and appear to be slightly convex

Bike is getting the rust taken out of the tank at a local shop.  I'll install them and post pics as soon as it is returned to me.

Hmm..  You say that they will vibrate less, if they are placed as bar ends..  Could you explain that?

I my opionion then they would actually shake even more, since the vibrations usually are higher in the end of a thing attached another place.  :)  Would also like some bar ends with mirros, just afraid that if I crash, I will crush them, and well..  I won't do that if it's normal mirrors ^^

The bar end mirrors don't vibrate as much as the stock mirrors because they are directly attached to the bars, not a mirror hanging off of a huge stalk. The big stalk on the stock mirrors is what causes all the vibration problems..

I had them on my TL1000S when it was naked.  They looked okay and cleared everything but they were pretty useless.

Yep.  I had them on my SV650, because the PO put them on.  I wouldn't pay money for 'em.  You're better off keeping the stockers.
