My good friend has a 08 Kawi Ninja 250, nice bike, no problems till now. He has had his eye on a 05 636 and even put 1200 down already. He was litterally leaving work to trade the 250 in and get almost 3800 hundred for it, for having 17000 miles on it already i thought that was a good price for him. Anyway, hes riding down I-95 and total loss of power, i picked him up got the bike home and took a look. We changed the oil and filter because it was almost dry, filter hadnt been changed in probably 10000 miles! New spark plugs, never had been changed. Checked air filter and vacuums, fluids, and such, sprayed some seafoam in the intake. Its definetly the motor. Its starts up and idles fine, it hangs when its throttled up, and when in 1st or 2nd it wont rev above 8000 rpm's. There is a slight clicking noise, it was better after we changed the oil, but its still there. Did he totally kill the 250? Any thoughts? Thanks GS'ers. Chef
08 should be under warranty take it to the dealor now that the oils is full
yup. dealer warranty. it sounds to me like a fuel issue, although I may be wrong.
Torn diaphragm. By the looks/sounds of it, a huge tear not no little dinky one ... as you rev up, stick your hand in the airbox and as you rev, slowly lift the diaphragms ... see if it revs like normal.
Cool.

easier said than done on a kawi 250. simpler to just pull the tops of the carbs while still on the bike. removing EX250 carbs is a task for the ages. literally.
