...or not so much America, but the world in general. How is it this man and his wife are allowed to live and breed while someone like John Ritter, who spent his life making people laugh, dies at the age of 55 from a heart condition only God knew about?

Ok... I'm glad I didn't respond to you post after reading the FIRST paragraph. I would have looked like an idiot trying to defend these parents.
What a bunch of tools.
I'm sorry, but the last quote from him has a hint of racism. I'm not sure why.
I get a lot of flak about my "America sucks" stuff one way or another...but, in reality, even in this situation, America sucks just a little more than the rest because where else in the world would this nonsense be tolerated? This man gave his child a name which he knew well in advance would cause his family grief. He should have to deal with the consequences of that decision. He doesn't deserve to ask "why" when the world looks at him like he's lost his magic helmet.
I like how he tries to say he named his son that because he liked the name and knew no one else would have it. Was that what he was thinking when he named his daughter "JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell?"
And of course to top it all off....WALMART ends up making the cake!
This story really makes me sick, what is this world coming to?
Regarding the "America Sucks" comment.... I've always thought about why other countries hate us so much.
We invade those countries and stick our noses into their business. That's why. This country IMO shows a level of arrogance... A "We are better then tho" attitude is what I see.
Its got nothing to do with america, its just idiots who are probably trying to make money with the names when someone denys them something because of the names. Freaking people.
no...it's an America thing. This is the only place where the greater many is forced to tolerate the idiocy and misdeeds of a relative few.
Here in America we are supposed to have the right to do whatever we want so long as we do not interfere with another person's rights. Heath Campbell has interfered with the rights of every one of his children by naming them in such a way. And we will tolerate it.
We, as Americans, are tolerating far too much.
that guy is not a racist per-se, but it seems as he might be a bigot?, and honestly wiht a name like adolf hitler, i dont htink his child will be hanging aorund wiht too many jews or blacks or anyone else. unless those people are VERY understanding. me i dont give a flip, ill date or mary someone, based on THEM not their ski9n color. skin color is like a book. race is like a book, its only the OUTSIDE. the inside is the part that matters.

you're just sucking up to the 2.3 girls that frequent gstwins ;)
that poor kid. his parents actually named him that, and the daughter. genius. he'll be kicked in the nuts every day :(
The whole freaking country is too pussified, so much so no one ever stands up and says anything of dissent.
The Madoff types in India will first have been handed over to the crowd before getting arrested. There is a serious merit in a "free for all type" justice system. Its a lot cheaper. Now it will cost billions to try him and he'll die 1 week into his sentence and have the country pay for his funeral. Like Ken Lay.
Cool.
Buddha.

+1
In other countries, this would NEVER have happened.
Oh no this will have happened, but when the arrests or the collapse of the scheme happens the first thing you'd see is some suit getting beat up. Then there will be arrests public trials, court ordered confiscation and redistribution and auctioning of the swindlers assets etc etc.
Cool.

I have a tendency to speak in extremes...this sort of thing has and does happen in other countries, and is reacted to in varrying ways.
The point is that while I feel he has the right to name his child anything he wants, I feel that we should not tolerate his feigning ignorance of the devestating effects of his decisions. It is this that we should not be tolerating. No one, anywhere, should tolerate such idiocy.
Poor kid. Idiotic parents ruining a perfectly good kid. I really do feel sorry for him.
this got to qualify as some sort of child abuse. If they are not home schooled, I hate to see what it'll say underneath their year book pictures w/ names like that.
this type of thing happens in countries all over the world....but America has it as a newsworthy event to sell papers. Nothing a legal name change won't fix. There are idiot white supremacists all over the world who do likewise stupid stuff....just check out www.stormfront.org for verification.
Let the kid change the name or sue the parent for damages once he's old enough. What's the problem exactly? Why is this America's fault? Hell, let the kid's other relatives sue for custody if they think that such harm will be caused. It's none of the government's business, or ours.
It's deeper than that, Mandres. We, in America, have the right to name our children what ever we please. This man could have named his kids sh*tforbrains and, though I would have been angered by it, I would believe he was within his rights just as I do now.
It's this man's refusal to accept responsibility for his decisions that angers me. Feigning ignorance when he is discriminated against is outrageously insulting. His decisions have been deliberate and sharp. We should not be in the least willing to tolerate this.
On a side note, though, while the law will not at this time consider it so, it has been proven that while the name doesn't have a direct relation to the outcome of a person, the reactions to a person's traits, such as their name, DO have a tremendous pull on the final outcome. I believe that the children have been violated, but it's borderline.
This is in fact a blatant form of child abuse, just because the parents aren't striking the kid themselves doesn't mean they can do something like name them in such a way as to damage them or their futures! The man snd woman in the article should spend time in jail or at least answer to a mob from the local trailer park they probably live in!
Just by coincidence I got an article about this very situation from my Pops. The family lives near Allentown, PA and the father is characterized as a "holocaust denier". The little boy is 3 and has to be coaxed to answer to his name. The youngest child is named for Himmler. A local psychologist termed this as a form of abuse.
This was featured in todays *the Sun* they didnt mention walmart made it tho!
Coming from the other side, Jay, how do you think this would have been reacted to in your neck of the woods?
The media Here blow up so much crap. If this happened here , the Shop who made it would be condemned , they would have 100's of complants made to the papers ,the news , the goverment etc , the thing about british people they love to make a fuss over nothing, The shop worker/ and the shop would be declared *sick racists* everyone would get offended. they would want justice etc
A lovely example , which did piss me something rotten off , but , there was a legal immigrent given a 7 bedroom house , rent free etc , the media went insane , and she was in no less then 3 weeks evicted and put in smaller accomidation , it did annoy me , due i work 50 hours a week , and i cant get a 7 bedroom house for free, but she didnt ask for that house , she wanted accomidation and they gave her the house
Another Great one , The store i work for Tk maxx, had these Jackets from America , and they contained a Small 2 inch penknife on a chain , what i would consider a hunting jacket, if ur over 18 you can buy a Sword that could chop a man in to , and the Media found out , well , we were front page in the news , declared the reason of knife crime , branded sick and fuelling killings, was on ITV news , Front page of the sun , etc
Back to the point , they would be labelled Nazi's and people would refuse to shop there
Where do you live outta curiosity jay?

this is not an American thing. all liberal democracies, which we are by definition of the phrase, have similar free speech laws and would let it go. this only get press because we make it so. they parent know darn well what will happen and they play it up to push their hate agendas

or try to get money for 15 minutes of fame. and stuff. well theyve gotten their press about it. they say they are not bigoted/racist ( there is a difference) , but it would seem if they were truly not, then why name their children after some of teh most hated sonsa bitches in history would be akin to naming my child Fucker or somehting
never underestimate the power of stupidity. two guys in walmart parking lot last night got in a shoving match over a parking space. (there was another one open about 3 cars farther down) :cookoo:

 today i was in teh primo spot ( the one outside the front door. people honking at me and blocking traffic cause they were too lazy to walk. i was sittign there waiting on friend to finish shopping. iwas not leaving anyways. fast food place immediately next door. they got hard 8) when i opeend door and loaded items into it, and acted liek i was gonna start and elave. but got pissed when i closed up locked and walked. 8)
I can at least say Texas tends to be a bit better about the "good spots" than what I hear from other states...I mean, it's all personal experience, I've just never experienced that particular issue. Here they don't hound you with a horn or anything and they don't like to hold up traffic...pedestrians here all KNOW they have the right of way and they hold up more traffic than anything else.
I also have a tendency to look for little old ladies and people with cripple tags to give my spot to, if I got a good one, when I'm walking out...
man i won't go near a shopping center to the 4th or 5th. not doing Christmas is great. none of the BS, stress, overspending, over eating and fighting for ones life for a car lol. :woohoo:

Eh whatever floats your boat ;)
I just read this lot, smiled most of the time, getting back to the title, America does not suck nor the world in general but quite a few of the people living on this planet have a little pee pee shaped apendage growing on their forheads. I do wonder what kind of person gives their kids outrageous names. And yeah it's just the same here, I live fairly near London myself. The worls is full of them wherever you go but there are lots of nice people as well.
My last experienc with parking issues came with the "handicapped Police" vigilanties. As you guys know I've got a lot of health problems including the heart. And well somedays I just can't walk the store and then have to walk to BFE and not be light headed or weak.
Well this one took the cake! It was just after getting out of the hospital couldn't drive the car cause it was broken into while in the hospital and a four foot hole cut in the roof. Sooo, I had no choice but take the bike to K-mart to get supplies to work on the car. My bike has a permanent plate on it. I slowly make it out to the handicapped spot and a woman was just standing there by my bike. My first thought is WTF is she doing next to my bike. She looks at me and says in a condescending tone " is this YOUR bike" Uhhh, yeah I stated. "Then what are you doing parked in it?!?" I pointed to the back and said I'm disabled I have a heart problem. " she replied YOU DON"T LOOK SICK!
I lost it and told her to get lost. I got sooo upset that my chest started hurting and was dizzy. Had to go back in the store to get a bottle of water and sat on my bike crying until the pain and dizziness subsided. Why is it that the "do Gooders" have to make it hard on the people who are disabled? I hate parking in a spot I have every right to because of similar scenes played out at least once a month!
Mary
Very sage writing cal. and mary sorry that crap keeps happeningif it werent for modesty or whatnot, id take a picture of the scar, and show them next time it happens but idk, or pull out hte phone and ask them if they want to use your phoen tto callpolice and report it. cause gfetting riled up is doing NO GOOD for your heart. one day thiswill happen and you wont survuive. we need ya aorund hun. gotta figure out a way to tell someone to in essence f%$k off without getting angry or getting heart to race or whatnot
You know I don't know why it is such a sore spot for me. Guess 'cause I hate "having" to park there in the first place and then someone rubbing "salt" into the wound. Even my friends sometimes piss me off if I'm driving and park there they will say "you're lucky to get the good spots" Most of the time I say "Define lucky?!?!? I'll give you my handicapped placard if I can have your good heart" They usually shut up then.
I've only found to perks to being disabled the parking spot and I get in free to the National parks here in the U.S. ! Makes you guys envious right! Uhm suuuurrre!
Mary
in my immature days perhaps, but now. realising what it takes to get the placard not worth the pain and crap one gets. ive went to bat for the disabled here intown before. people who were lazy would pull up, "only for a minute" lol, and get out, and a disabled person would come along and id tell them to pull up behind em to do their thing. and its funny how the non disabled lazy person would act. and im like lady ( usually it was a woman. sorry ladies, jus tellin how it was. anyhoo id say lady you could have parked a bit further down and did a novel thing called walking which it seems you were too lazy to do. while this person does NOT HAVE THAT OPTION. so guess what, now you gotta wait. theyre like threatening to call police. im like thatas real bright capt obvious. call them wanna use my phone. that way youll have to explain why youre in a spot that you are NOT SPOSED to be in. and there is a LARGE fine involved. ( and im a reserve deputy as well. i showed her my badge) she declined to go any fuirther. the hadicapped guy was like DAMN man thanks, i guarantee she wont do that ahgain for a LONG TIME
I'm like you I hate it when people abuse those spots. And for people who have done that I've said a word too. They were like why do you care? Uhm, because I'm disabled and only park there when I "need" to. So, if I can walk you sure as hell can walk!
It is quite rampant at work. People like to park there to wait for people to pick up which can go up to an hour! They think it is not illegal because they are in the car. As security I have to tell them otherwise and they get PISSED. I just feel bad for the disabled employee who has just survived eight hours and then has to walk a quarter of a mile to get to their car because this lazy idiot won't park two lanes over in the pick up area which is actually closer to where the employees exit at.
I just don't get it! Guess it takes all kinds!
Mary
Oh i enjoy it. lol i actually like calling people out on it, 9 times out of ten later on, wed meet up and they would apologise, and im like apology accepted, BUT dont apologise to me, apologise to the person whos parking you deny.
