I would rather have the GS for the sake of having less power to get me into trouble.  I really dont need to be capable of going anything near 130+mph in the real world.

LMAO I'm only 21.   but I would like to have something slower paced so I CAN live longer.  this bike I just cant resist that temptation to open the throttle and go fast.  I keep seeing my friend who is 17 with a 2 stroke that goes WAY too fast and thinking I dont want to have that temptation and speed.

really? nobody?   come on, I'm bored in the 600 class, they're just not fun trying to ride slow, I want to get back to the 500's and ride a slow bike fast instead of the other way around.

Well I'm not sure if they still have it, I haven't been in florida since august, but reckless powersports in plant city had a  guy trying to sell his gs500e for like 1200, i dunno if he'd be willing to trade or not though if he still has it. it seemed sound enough, though according to him the battery was dead so I'm not 100% on that. If he's willing to trade that could be something you could look into? How far is NPR from plant city?

I'd rather meet with a private owner so I can discuss the maintenance history and get an idea of how it was cared for. you know as well as I that a dealer will say whatever they think you want to hear to make a sale.   Plant city is too far for me too, its literally 50 miles via interstate, and I only have a bike, no truck or the extra money to rent/borrow one, so yeah. tampa is ok, but plant city is too far.

Reckless isn't a dealership, owners a friend of the guy that runs the place. Bought it and rarely rode it so he was selling. Yeah I know what you mean about dealers, glorified pawnbrokers   :icon_rolleyes:. Sorry man, all I know of around that area.

Thats a possibility.  I may wait a week and do some more stuff to my bike, then decide what to do for certain.  I'm entertaining offers to just buy mine outright, then I could rent a truck for a day or two and just drive out and get whatever bike I find that looks good.

If you're serious, I could find some way to meet you halfway probably. you'd have to bring a trailer for legal reasons, since I'm obviously not just going to let someone ride with my tag on their bike.

Would you consider selling just the Enkei wheels?  I could trade you a set of GS500 wheels with newer tires (about 1500 straight miles) if you're dead set on having a GS.

Not really,  if I end up keeping the CBR I'm doing a full blown conversion and those are going on there.

if I had a truck and the money I'd gladly meet you halfway.    for someone who lives in the GA area, or maybe alabama, I could meet you near Jennings if you wanted to do a trade.

I should have read that first post the whole way through. I didn't realize it needed work done. Sorry, but I don't have the money or time for a project right now.

its cool.  all the bike needs is a new rear rotor, or if you want to upgrade things, the F2 suspension, but as it sits its 100% ridable and functioning.    well, aside from the shock leaking, but I'm exploring some options with an F2 shock to replace that one and improve it a little.
