Happy New Year first of all! I got my bar end mirrors the other day and they come with 5 pieces per mirror.
1.the mirror itself
2.the allen head bolt
3. inner skeeve
4. outer sleeve
5. end cap that screws onto the allen head bolt
These mirrors came with no instructions and I don't know how to mount these on my '89 clip ons. Help?

looks like:
little on threaded portion, then big on little, then the threaded taper nut, tap it into the bar (if needed) then turn the allen head till it tightens up the assembly.
if it's not a -little- snug giong in it will be difficult to get it to tighten.
:)
so just assemble the whole thing, and tap it in place? Do I remove the plastic tips that are on the ends of my bars now?
yup. ANd you wanna tap the female threaded part in the bar tube (number 5) than add the sleeves and install the mirror and tightne the nut number 5 should pull itself into number 4 and expand the sleeve that should make the thing stay put
I can't really imagine #5 going that far into the bar seeing how small it is. Tap it in till it's flush with the end of the handle bar? How will I get the sleeve in at that point. I hate things that don't come with instructions, but come with plenty of pieces.
Ok so after taking the plastic end cap off my bars I've run into more problems.
1. The bolt that came with my mirrors are way to big around to thread into my handle bars.
2. Between all the parts that ame with my mirros and all the spacers and washers and crap that comprise the end caps for my handle bars I'm completely lost as to what the hell I'm supposed to use and throw away.
HELP!
Ever used a Rawlbolt???........same thing.
Look at the drawings on the bottom of this page.

I just used the hardware from the plastic end cap. Good enough.
