Title: 6-9ft/lbs on the bar holders on 89' clip-ons?
Post by: grayghost on January 02, 2009, 08:52:56 PM
clymer manual says 6-9 ft/lbs torque on the bar holders on the 89' clip-ons. i loctited em, and set them at 9ft/lbs, but sure sounds light for someting as critical as the recivers for handlebars?!

Steel bolt in aluminum housing. They are held in mechanically because one bolt goes partially through the bar. So it can be just tight enough to not come loose and be OK.
I usually do antiseize not loctite.
Cool.
