Title: White '89 gas tank with dents (not perfect) for sale - pictures included
Post by: simoniz on January 05, 2009, 07:53:02 PM
Now I have Yev's old tank on my bike, I don't need my original white '89 gas tank so I am offering it here before going to Ebay. The previous owner put the dent in the right side front, not me! Then he parked the bike outside for ages, so the colors are a bit faded and it picked up a little rust. Luckily the inside is rust free, and it can be used "as is". I used it for the first 6 months I had the bike. But if you want a used tank for a project/respray, this would be a good candidate. So, make me an offer!

I'll have to think about it.  I can't decide if it would be easier to re-coat my current tank or just buy a new one.

Would you be willing to sell the gas cap with lock separately?

It's separate anyway, I swapped them over with the one Yev sent me so I could keep using my current key. It's just on as a loose fit in the picture, I figured if anyone bought this they would want to do the same thing with theirs. How about $10 plus shipping ?

That sounds great! Does it have the key with it?

Ah, there's the catch, it came without a key. You could transfer your lock from your old tank to it, or ask Yev nicely what his key number is on his bike and have a copy made at a locksmith.

Sorry, no key with the lock, your best bet is to transplant your old one, as I said above.

I'll get you a shipping quote on that and PM you.
