Hi all,
Just picked up a 90' GS500 with 16k on the odo thats been sitting for about 8 months, soooo, carbs came out to be cleaned, tank has rust, and battery is dead, but I should get it up and running soon enough! Just wondering if any of you guys are in the NYC or southern westchester area (around yonkers, white plains)?
hey whats up i live in queens and always lookin for people to ride with (noone wants to ride in the winter lol) let me know when you get your bike running. i have an 04 gs 500f btw
hey guys,
I'm currently not riding due to cold weather (no winter gear) but as soon as it warm up a little I'll be more than happy to have some fellow riders.
I also live in Queens, NY. Maspeth to be exact.
Kamil
Welcome to the board. I wish you titled this thread "New GStwin rider in NYC". There are several million New Yorkers who live 450-500 miles from you.
in manhattan...bike is currently parked pending fuel vs. air issue after knock over. haven't had time to take apart and check stuff yet...but it's gettin' warm and i'd love to go riding.

get your ride fixed ASAP. I was riding today and let me tell you that it was great :thumb:
let me/us know when your bike is rideable, it would be great to meet and ride together!
cheers
Kamil
air filter is clean, oil level good, fuel getting to carbs (comes out from both drain screws) and battery is good.
the only culprit i found was soot and oil around the end of the spark plugs. i'm going with oil fouled plugs as the bike was on its side for a few hours.
i'm hoping this is why the bike won't maintain an idle as i don't know much else about bikes. anyhow, ordering new plugs and plan to start riding by next weekend if things work out.
