So today on my lunch i switched from driving my wrx to riding the bike. While the bike was warming up i noticed steam coming from under the can where it meets the exhaust pipe. It turns out i have a hole a little smaller than a pencil. The hole is located on the bottom of the can right after the exhaust meets up. Should i worry about plugging the hole some how? The bike seems to run like normal. Could i just jb weld it closed? Any suggestions are appreciated!
My exhaust looks like it has been welded there at least two or three times. This could very well be a common problem... Someone thought it was important enough to fix on my bike, possibly more than once...
There are few other spots on the bottom of the can where it appears it has been welded... Would JB weld do the trick? or would it not hold up to the heat??

I didn't even know exhaust cement existed... But i am cheap and i do already have jb weld.... decisions decisions....
There is supposed to be a small hole at the bottom of the can before it goes into the tube where the weld is.. This is to prevent condensation from sitting in the bottom of the exhaust after starting/sitting warming/cooling. It's drainage. If you notice a poof coming out of there it's good.. it's pushing any moisture in the can out to prevent it from rusting out the inside of the can.
Whatever you do... leave it alone.

That makes sense, i was a little curious about the wet spot directly under the hole... Weird that it got wet parked in the garage...
Yeah, it's from the last time you ran it. After you parked it, as the bike cooled, moisture gathered in the pipe and settled at the bottom of the can right at/around that hole. The second you turn the key there should be a poof and a noticeable puddle or spray mark under the exhaust on the floor.
