Title: Something to watch out for
Post by: spotswood_suzuki on September 19, 2003, 04:06:27 PM
Thought I would share this with everyone.  I decided to ride to work last week.  I take the cover off my bike and notice a rag sticking out under the seat :? .  Yea, that should have been my first clue, but I just figure I had put it there and left it so off I go.  I get to work 45 minutes later and as I walk past the bike the whole back end looks crooked.  What had happened is one of the bolts holding the rear fender to the frame had fallen out and the other one was sheared :nana:   The worse part is the only thing left from under the seat was my tool kit....my registration and insurance card that I had together in plastic, was gone.  I am so pissed...I get some tie wraps from work to hold everything back together for the ride home.  About 4 hours later my wife calls and asks me if I am missing anything...seems a cop had just pulled up to the door and handed my wife my missing papers    They had fallen out only a block after I started and someone must have found them and turned them in.  Guess there still are some good people out there :thumb:   The moral...you all might want to check the tightness of those bolts.

Wayne

P.S.  Does anyone know what size the bolts are so I can get some new ones?
