Hey guys, I am in need of a little picture help. I'm in the process of rewiring my projcet after the PO bastardized the old harness trying to get an electric tach to work in a 1990, and I really need some help in how the wire harness is ran from beginning to end. Can someone post pictures of the harness starting at the pigtail behind the headlight, following it through the forks (can't figure out how its ran into the frame for the life of me!) all the way to the battery, then one of the ground wire somewhere on the back/underneath of the engine.
I know I should have taken pictures of these before I took the harness out ~6 months ago, but didn't think it would be that difficult to remember! Any help is appreciated!
Thanks guys,
Nick
no one can snap 2 or 3 pics to help out? :icon_confused:
No kidding. Come on! I would be more than willing but I don't have a camera. Sorry.

O0 :thumb: Thank you so much! So after the headlight it goes through the middle of the forks and into the "engine bay"?!?!? And is that the throttle, and chocke cables that go through the small triangle openings in the frame? I just want to make sure I have everything ran correctly!
Thanks again!
Nick
I am not saying this is how it SHOULD go. Just this is how it is on my bike. It doesn't really matter as long as nothing binds.
I'm pretty sure the PO put on new handlebars and rerouted it the best he could. I had to re-reroute the choke cable to make that work properly when I got it.
yeah my biggest worry is something catching or smashing in the forks/handlebar area and being unable to complete a turn while on the road! I appreciate the pics man!
Any other inputs on if the wires shown are ran correctly?
Also, any tips/pics of where the negative wire runs to from the battery?
Thanks,
Nick

The colors I drew in don't signify anything, just highlighting the negative cable.

- (the blue taped bundle on the rt side is the wiring harness going back from the headlight)

attaches behind rt side of trans - I THINK.
I can't get a good pic and I can't see it well and can hardly feel where it goes.

GOOD LUCK!!
let us know how it goes.

Yeah this is the part I'm having trouble with! I can't remember where I disconnected it from when I dropped the engine but I remember that I was lucky that I took the battery out because I never unhooked it from the engine and when I dropped it I would have been VERY angry if that held it in the bike! lol
Can anyone that is 100% point out exactly where this bolts on to the back of the engine? If I remember correctly (the engine is back in the bike and I can't see clearly) there is only 1 bolt on the back side of the engine/tranny that it could bolt to.
Thanks,
Nick
