On my GS500 buggy I have had to install a larger oil cooler because the stock one was damaged in the crash. I have relocated the oil cooler to a place which is MUCH higher than the standard oil cooler.
When I looked at the place where the oil filter is installed it appeared that BOTH connections to the oil cooler were located in the same place, hinting at the idea that oil is not pumped around the cooler.
Is the oil pumped around the oil cooler by the oil pump? Or is it purely by convection?
The reason I ask is that I don't want to have an oil cooler which is filled with air, and therefore not doing any cooling.
If it is just by convection, can I install an electric oil pump in the line to pump oil around the oil cooler? Would this have any benefit?

There is 1 oil pump with an inline restrictor to feed the head and cooler. This is the same pump used on prior models without the cooler. I would look into adding a secondary oil pump to feed the larger cooler.
