Title: what type of paint remover can i use to strip my wheels?

I want to strip and polish my rims but im not sure what to use.  If anyone has done this please let me kow what you used .  thanks josh

There was a write up done on here that walks you through it. Unfortunately I'm on my phone and I can't look it up for you right now. Try a search for "polished rim" or "polished rim" and see if that pulls it up!

You could probably strip all the paint mechanically... Use a sand blaster or wire wheel or the like... It might be slower than paint remover, but not as toxic.

i'd use one designed to strip paint from metal

use whatever generic paint stripper that you find at the hardware store, just dont get it on the tire

well josh since IIRC this time of year its definately NOT riding season as of yet, remove wheels, and remove tires from wheels and do it that way. odds are your not riding it anytime soon. ( i could be wrong though) i wanna strip mine and have em powdercoated john deere yellow. ( part of a project )

Aircraft stripper. Easily found at most autopart stores.

ok thanks everyone ill do some looking this weekend for supplies and take before and after pics to post when i do it.
