Title: Moto GP exhaust???
Post by: JHoffy8 on January 24, 2009, 11:29:02 PM
I've been looking to do an underbelly for my F to E conversion. This caught my eye.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Motorcycle-Parts-Accessories__06-07-GSXR-600-GSXR600-Shorty-Exhaust-Moto-gp-slip-on_W0QQitemZ270323757375QQadiZ2863QQadnZMotorcycleQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item270323757375&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A543|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Anyone have any experience with this? I searched the site and only found one thread with 3 posts. Whats the decibel level for a stock GS anyway? My exhaust is currently at the sandblasters. The bike looks clean, I want to keep it that way! Ok guys let me hear why I shouldnt do this.

Looks like just a chrome truck turn down with a rubber bit connected to a clamp.  It will be really loud, and doesn't look like it would redirect the exhaust away from the rear tire without a bend put in it ( looks like the pipe is mostly straight with a slight bend and mainly slash cut which is ok if your exhaust has a bend in it)  If it were me and I wanted that look I would just go custom and make it all black under the tail, maybe go with two, one on each side with an x join in the middle.  Just doesn't seem like it would be worth the money.

its not the same as just a turn down pipe. that pipe have a baffle and packing to cut dowm some noise but it will be loud. But not as loud as just a chrome turndown tip.
