STILL LOOKING - any help would be appreciated! :thumb:
Hi all,

Thanks!

Bump.
I'll settle for just one...please...
Well now you're talking. My bike only came with one. I figure eventually I'll make two that match, or yank the bar and put on a hollow bar that can take bar end mirrors. I loved the Napoleons I put on my first bike.
I can get you a picture in a day or two - won't be pristine, it's a 19 year old bike and has been mis-used by some prior owners. As far as I recall it's not too dinged up (garaged a few miles away for the winter or I'd go look at it.)

Thanks, DoD#i - it doesn't have to be purdy, just heavy and stock with the screw. Shoot me a picture when you have a chance and tell me what you'd like for it.
My '07 had screw on bar ends, not the expanding type.

Interesting...did you buy your '07 new? If not, maybe the PO had to replace the handlebars and did so with one from an older model? :dunno_white:
I have some carbon fiber bar ends that came on my "04 if you want them you can have 'em!

Hi Mary,
Thanks for the generous offer! Are yours the "screw on" type or the "expanding" type. Mine will only take the screw on type like the schematic above. The inside looks like this from Kerry's site:

Thanks!
You take the rubber hose and nut off the expander and it will screw into the end. They are all 6mm bolts I think, else put a 6mm bolt in it and get it on there.
BTW you need to send me something ? AND I am buying somethign else so you can ship em both in 1 box ?
Cool.
Buddha.

That's interesting, I didn't know that. But the reason I like the stock ones are because of their weight.
Yes, I have a set of risers for you!! PayPal me $20 for the Tygon tubing I'll have your stuff out the door. :thumb:
Here is a pic of them

Still looking! :)
Got a bunch of 'em.
Actually, the bar ends are interchangeable. While the oldies are lead with a steel cover and the newer ones are all steel, the real difference is the length of the screw. has to be a shorter screw because the screw hole in the bar doesn't go all the way through. The oldies might be a few ounces heavier, too. (Hmmmm - I think I'll weight them to see if there is much difference!)
Anyway, I do have a bunch of the true oldies (lead with steel cover) with the correct screw. New from the dealer they are $26 each so how about $10 + shipping. I'd need an address to calculate the UPS ground. You can PM me if that's OK.
If you want them as is and don't plan to re-paint them, I'll select the best pair I have. Otherwise, I'll still select a good pair and hold the best ones for someone that doesn't plan to paint them.
UPDATE
==============
All done. They're on their way.
adidasguy came through. Quick shipping and in better shape than originally thought. :thumb:
Anyone got a spare one for a '97 wth clip-ons? Or want an old one if/when I get a new pair?
Been on vacation and avoiding the board and selling anything or posting anything because there is a certain member that annoys the hell out of me and others.(Not to mention directly, but that person's user ID contains the square of 29.12043956).
As a result, for now I don't need nor want the stress of that person so I'm not selling or posting. If you really need an old bar end:
1. All new and old bar ends are the same - just a shorter screw rather than the expanding bushing even though oldies are lead with a steel cover and newer ones are all steel.
2. If you really need one, PM me and I'll help you out. Got a drawer full of them.
Well, here's my last for a while.
Wow, that's really too bad, adidasguy. It's a loss to the board: sellers who provide honest descriptions, communicate quickly, and ship the next day are hard to come by.
Any chance you can just ignore that particular member's responses/PMs?
It's difficult, I am rather annoyed with a series of the member's responses myself ... though a ... less... antagonistic leaf they have seemed to turn over... maybe a mod got onto them. Anyway adidasguy dont be a stranger ^_^
I'll watch what people are looking for and PM them if I have it.
Selling the brand new 1992 fuel tank made me go insane and reach my limit in dealing with "things on the board" (go through that past attempted sale and see what I was dealing with.)
In a month or so when I finish bringing Junior back to factory original I'll probably start putting all the left overs up for sale (except to one member).
I'm still here. Watching what's going on, avoiding posting unless I see an urgency.
The other problem is selling here is generally a waste of time. Countless times I've PM'd or posted that I have parts someone wants for next to nothing and never get a reply. I PM's one prson selling who said would get back, then sold to someone else for more. So why waste my time? I'd rather spend time riding and giving my bikes attention.
yooblonder doesn't seem interested in bar ends even though I said to him I have a drawer full of them. Not even a "no thank you".
So I'm not selling much anymore. The trash bin and giving parts to friends is so much easier.

Sorry about your frustrations, but do you have any carb parts in that trash bin. Specifically I need un-modified slides and OEM (or equivalent) needles for my '97 gs? If you do let me know what you want for them. I tried to buy them new and they are back-ordered until way cold winter time. thanks.
No carb parts. Thanks for asking.
Don't forget about checking ebay in Germany and the UK.
www.ebay.co.uk
www.ebay.de
I find most of my stuff over there. Here, Pinwall Cycle parts is really good. They're on ebay. Everything is pretty clean, tagged and shrink wrapped. They have lots of GS500 parts www.pinwallcycle.com. I've never been unhappy with anything bought from them. ebay: pinwall_cycle_parts or pinwall_cycle_newparts
Thanks for the direction. Will check it out.
Wow, just checking the forum for the first time in about a week and noticed I've been mentioned! :embarrassed:
Adidasguy, apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Didn't expect a response from anyone so soon and life has some big stuff happening just now so have only checked back in today.
I'll PM you.
yooblonder
PM's back with suggestions.
+1 for pinwall. I just found them not too long ago but they seem to have a good selection and fair prices.
