i know sometimes you can cut the cable and housing with a cutting wheel depending on how it hooks up to the card how is that cable hook to the carb?screw and clamp or ball end?

actually if you have a mappgas torch you can cut it off at the right size and take some lead solder and solder the end back on.  that should hold good on a go kart

it should be a bunch of little steal cables.  take a pic of both ends of the cable for me if you can.  so i can see for sure

Yeah it will be a bunch of little wires but they're making up one wire so what's the difference? In response to being "too thin", whats too thin to solder. It would work fine as long as you heat old wires and remove from the barrel...only problem is with modifying the cable's cover. Not sure how to move the metal reinforcement at the end of the jacket.

Ghetto solution would be to re-route the cable and use up the extra length.

What i'm saying is solder wouldn't be strong enough but i was thinking about rerouting it.

IF you knew how to solder than it would be string enough. but its your cart do what you want people are answering your question and your not even giving them a try just a no that wont work.

solder will work that what they use to make battery cables before they did the crip and bolt ends.
