Title: possible valve spring compressor?

Does anyone thing such a tool can be used on the GS500 as a valve spring compressor?

I don't like those, they can damage the spring.

I prefer valve spring compressors that look like a C-clamp, such as:

No. I think those work better for exposed springs. I bought an 8" C clamp and used it with a piece of pipe with the middle sawed out. It worked great, cost less than 10 bucks.
