Pretty obvious from title. I'm currently in the market for a new chain (and sprockets) and looking to avoid having to buy from overseas
as the $AU is currently worthless. I want a DID 520V (or VM) 110 link chain but the only thing i can find locally is this:

I'll be taking the chain and sprockets to a dealer to get them to swap it over as i dont have all the tools. So i was wondering if i ordered the 120 link chain is that something they can easily reduce to 110 for me?
Oh and one more, asides from looking better, does the gold X ring chain warrant an extra 30$? Because i'm not changing the chain and stuff myself i dont mind forking out a bit more now so as to delay my next visit to the stealership.

I've been using the cheapest chain off ebay. It's a kmc brand o-ring clip type I got for $40 US. I've only needed to adjust it 3 times in 7000 miles. Looks like it'll last even longer than I thought. I may get 40,000 or more out of this chain. So no need to spend any more unless you really like gold.

x-ring i dunno. my o-ring chain lasted almost 5 times longer than a non o-ring chain. could be an indicator, but i doubt you'll get 2-3 times more use out of a x-ring compared to an o-ring chain. let me knwo what you find 20,000 miles from now, ok ? :)
yes, they can reduce the links.
btw - if you have:
axe, 10, 12, 13, and 19mm wrenches, pliers, and a piece of string you can do it yourself. doesn't take much time either. around an hour to do it all, even at my slow as tar pace.
might want a torque wrench for the rear axle.... ;)
