Title: removing oil pump
Post by: flair.14 on February 22, 2009, 07:19:26 PM
What a royal PITA it is for me to remove the oil pump. I am trying remove the three screws on the oil pump with an impact driver with no success. I am thinking about grinding a slit on the head of these screws and pressing my luck with a flathead screwdriver.

Any tips how to remove these screws would be appreciated :)

vice grips, my savior for stubborn screws, the only time these have ever failed me was when i had a rusted screw, the head came off before the screw broke loose. but that got me to thinking... if the torque i applied through the vice grips popped the head off, then any other means to remove the screw would have too.

go with vice grips+penetrating oil, seriously
