Post by: socialDK on February 28, 2009, 04:34:06 PM
Can someone post a pic of their tach. gauge showing the proper idle. I recently had my valves adj. and now my idle is lower then when i brought it in, i think i had it around 1300. i let it warm up turn off the choke and the rpm slowly go down till it dies. any suggestions?

The Wiki has some info that should be useful for you here:

Once the bike is warm and the choke is closed, turn the idle screw to get the idle to stablize around 1200 rpm. If the engine starts dying out, keep upping the idle screw. Once the bike is fully warm (after you've ridden a few minutes), you may have to bump the idle down if you find the idle ends up higher than you want it.

Good luck!

Can't you close your eyes and picture a tach needle at 1200? Adjust with idle screw under the carbs.
