Both my forks are 'slightly' bent. Based on the pics of bend forks on GStwins and what ppl suggest, I think mine can be straightened up (will post pics). But not sure how much will it cost here in San Diego or where can I do it? Any help?
Or else anyone wanting to sell the top cylinders / cheap forks?
Open to exchange.
i wish my forks were bent then i would have a reason to do the kat fe swap early
Its ~40-50 a leg. Maybe a bit less, he charges based on the time it takes him, so it can be 30-50 ... It will be straight when done and I have to see pics, and only if it can be done without pulling it out will I even try it. If its gotta be pulled - like your bend is lower in the leg than the lower triple, then you have to send me the top leg only.
It is possible but need some very precise instruments and a good press.
Cheaper to swap I would guess. If it has rust in the lower 2/3 under the triple clamp, toss it it is garbage. Any chronic seal problems etc, toss it its prolly got over a 1000th of wear. I dunno sometimes its not worth straightening it.
Cool.
Buddha.
plus it can be a HUGE liability
hmmm :( it does have specks of rust, so I think I should look for a set of used ones...
Anyone selling the fork?
I am working on the kat front end swap. Have to send my stem to buddha but after should have a good set of stock ones of off my 89 race bike...
