Real nice bike, just wondering who was selling it or if they were on the forum. Not in the market for one myself, but looks to be a nice bike. No way the owner did all this stuff w/o consulting the gstwinners.. The pure give away that the owner has used gstwin.com resources was the "K&N Lunchbox air filter" and "Rear fender eliminated with custom tag mount". :icon_mrgreen:.
Here's a pic:

That would be mine, if it wasn't for gstwins that bike would be 100% stock.
This site has cost me quite a bit of money :technical: but I love it. :kiss3:
The custom tag mount is a fancy way of saying two pieces of aluminum hand bent and screwed into plastic. lol O0
Thanks for the complements.

I know the price is kind of high, but I got ripped off when I bought it (young and dumb...). Plus, with the market in my area it's priced about right. I've had a few people contact me, I'm only going to sell if I get $2,000 or more.

Dont go into this line of thinking, I paid this for it so I want this. Dont expect others to pay for your mistakes. Having said that 2.2K or 2K is an easy sell, your $ is fine, so dont go into that other line of reasoning, you dont need to, its worth 2.2 and if someone doubts that, send them here or better yet send them off to try a GS off the street. Yours will run, handle, brake and look and everything else much much better. So there it is. That's why its 2.2K.
People want to get value for what they are paying, they dont want to relieive you of your mistake, or give you what you need to save your self from this or that cos you owe this much on it. You can owe 5K on a 1K car, sorry that dont mean its ever gonna sell for 5K. Only way it sells for 5 is if it got repoed.
@2.2K its a deal. They will recognise that, and any suggestion that you over paid and have this much into it etc etc will only dilute that. Use paulcet/Dgyver bike as a guide from last year for what soemthing like this could sell at, and work from there. I sold for 1800 my kat FE GS which really wasn't as nice and had stock pipe and 3.5 rear tar.
Cool.
Buddha.
i wish i would have found one like this when i was buying my bike i got bent over when i bought mine because i did check around for prices before i bought it. i got my 05 last summer for same price i could have bought an 08 new for so.. i dont see you having and problems selling yours for 2200
Bucks you know what you need, a chunk of semi truck tar. Zip tie on to the middle bar on the centerstand and it wont hit your left foot.
Cool.
Buddha.

You're right, thanks for the advice. I kind of based my price off a '97 that was on cl a week before mine, dgyver/paulcets sale, and what I need to buy the bike I'm interested in. Although I'm still bitter over getting ripped off, I shouldn't use that in my pricing strategy. That used bike stealership is known for being scam artists. They currently have a 1990 kawi ninja250 with 15k for $2,000...

I know how you feel, but I'm sure all the enjoyment you get out of your bike will make it worth it. I know it did for me.

Coo koo is absolutely right ... O0
WTF ... what is the street value of a macaw ? is it even legal to have it. Buggers are pretty vocal but they are cute.
Tell him you want a Macaque, a Lion tailed Macaque.
Cool.

Glad to see ya found that man, yeah, I somehow forgot to post the link. :dunno_white:.
As far as craigslist, I got really lucky with mine, but I take every pic I see with a grain of salt, cause most aren't what they seem.
Went to go bike shopping with my friend recently, and one bike we saw online muist have been years old, plus the guy was really shadey, and started talking to us about the purto ricans in new Mexico who were hacked the engine on it?? :cookoo:. Great sales technique.
So now, I always keep my eyes open for a killer deal if I see one.

Same here, I'm on CL several times everyday. Scanning several cities and at least two states for great deals.
What else am I to do when at work and no new posts have been put up here since I last checked? Well obviously peruse CL!

haha, that's the right attitude. :thumb:
Like I would actually do WORK lol
I officially no longer own a gs, it's a sad feeling.
I'm sure it will really hit me when I go home and she isn't in the garage.
On the bright side, I did receive a full asking price offer.
I bet thats bittersweet, good to have the money but sad to see her gone. What are you doing now? Upgrading? Buying another? School?
I was originally planning to upgrade, but the sv I was looking at sold.
So, now I guess it will be used for school. Unless I find another great deal.
Check this one out. Made me wish I was looking for another bike. Reminds me of college:
