Perhaps I'm a skeptic, but I see an institution that took money they didn't need and only returned it because they didn't want to play by the rules that were required to keep it. I think they're probably as shady as the next... :dunno_white: I could be wrong...wouldn't be the first time...
i'm sure there's an ulterior motive for it. i consider myself an honest person but if someone just wanted to give me that kinda money, i wouldn't just give it back. unless of course, there were certain strings attached i didn't like. which i'm sure is the case here. could be wrong though.
Like buying a bike at an astronomical price because they will finance you. Aint worth diddly squat.
Bail out is 100 million, the payments are 300 million spread over 40 years at 10% interest.
Inflation is running a good 10+%, yet they pay 3% interest on savings and even less on bonds or funds.
