Title: headlight upgrade
Post by: ILikeSound on March 06, 2009, 07:40:57 AM
I have a 2002 gs500 but I like the look of the the newer F model's headlight and cowl. Can anybody tell me how much trouble it would be to put the headlight assembly and cowl from an F model onto my 02?

Thanks.

First of all you will need to either buy stock f brackets or make your own then you'll need to figure out where they need to go and weld them to your frame . Then do some wiring to mount the turn signals and mount all fairings and your done. That doesn't sound like a lot of work but it is unless you have a welder and work at a machine shop.

I should have my stock f model upper fairing arrive in the mail and will be looking at doing this with the stock E headlight.  I'm anticipating a lot of fab work for the brackets but with some general fab tools it shouldn't be impossible.  Keep watching my build at the link in my signature for any updates.

Thanks,
