Title: Grrrr, stupid wind!
Post by: dyran on March 11, 2009, 02:24:05 PM
I have yet to ride my bike but it has now been dropped, the wind knocked it over today. Grrr.

On that note does anyone have a set of mirrors and/or a brake lever that I can get off you?

Must have been some wind. Might help if you told people what model you had...

I live near you, and yeah it was windy as hell today.  I rode today too.  Man, it was something.  I think I saw Toto, Dorothy, and a cow fly by!  I don't have extra parts, but levers and mirrors aren't expensive.  I got new mirrors for my E model for $21 and they work good and I think they look a lot better than the rectangular stockers.  They really look like they belong on the bike.

Hey, Fred!  How come guys ask for parts but don't say which model they have?  :icon_eek:

I bet its because they dont think about it.  I have a feeling the first time I ask for help or parts on this forum I will also fail to include the birth year of my bike lol

Wow, crazy other parts of the country and their "weather." None of that nonsense around here... Sometimes it gets hot, other times it is colder... Once in a blue moon it rains, but that's it... I guess we do have Santa Anas, but that is more like standing in front of an oven than wind that knocks stuff over...

I don't know why people forget to say what bike they have... 80% of the time it doesn't matter, but for stuff like mirrors and tach...

Yea pretty crazy, I'm in Toronto, gusty winds upto 70km/h or something....definitely a day to protect your bike away from the wind

I'd say the wind today was closer to 70 mph!  50 at least.  My bike's still standing and that's all that matters!  :thumb:

Try keeping them up during a hurricane. I already got dibs on an '04 F mirror. Thanks to someone hitting it. Now I'm stuck in the hospital because of stress.
So, I'm still looking too.

Thats why I'm very thankfull I have a garage so my baby doesn't have to sit in the elements unless I ride it somewhere! But I guess it would have to run before I could do that  :2guns: lol

My bike is a 1994 so if anyone has an extra break lever that would be great if not I can't wait to get the bike out so I may just have to buy a new one :(

I have a set of mirrors I'll give you for free just to get rid off an extra junk in the garage and help out another rider.
You pay the shipping from WA though.
