This is the first time that I am installing piston rings....do I need a piston ring installation tool or can I do without it?

Hi there,
You know what we used at the shop I used to work at?
Soft easy-to-find wooden popsicle sticks, available at any craft store in a bag of 100 for less than $1.
They don't scratch or gouge the rings as you press them into the ring lands and slide the cylinders over the pistons.
Very cool.
Best wishes,
Trwhouse

Mine were a tight fit but I didn't need anything other than my finger tips and a little persuasion with my "GUNS" to pop them in.
