Congrats! Which one did you get?
Tony
a guy at a computer place the other day was talking about macs......he said that the reason they are virus free is that not many people own them therefore the folks who make the viruses, don't want to waste their time creating a virus that won't affect very many people. intresting theory i suppose. okay, now, all you mac users, chime in and flame me. :icon_mrgreen:
20" 2.66
there might not be a lot of people that own them at the moment because they probably don't know too much about them or they think they're over-rated (i used to think so as well) but after using them in school i fell in love and then realized why the people that had them raved about them. i ended up getting a second job a while back at an apple store and learned so much about the computers as well as the company itself which both are really awesome. The company really invests a lot in making sure that customers are well informed and taken care of....whether they are buying a mac, bought one 3 years ago, or just want to know more about them with no intention on ever buying one. i have to stop myself here or i'll go on forever lol
my $.02: don't judge unless you actually know what you're talking about, assumptions almost made me miss out on a great computer. 8)
If Macs are supposedly virus-free....
...why was this product ever made???

I remember reading that someone recently created a virus for macs. It was on Yahoo a few weeks ago.

ya, that's a pretty lame excuse. (i'm not knocking you) ti's been circulated that "someday" macs were going to be just infested with crap like windows, but it still hasn't happened. we have 4 macs, online, all the time, for the last 3 1/2 years, and have never had an infection, virus, trojan, password cracker, or the like. yes, i surf porn, puppy porn, and all the darkest corners of the internet. because people are gullible ? there are also 'special' paint treatments applied to new cars for hundreds of dollars, (a wash n wax), extended warrantees for tv's (c'mon, everyone knows thats bogus !) and other gimmicks to steal your money.
we surf, sync (phones/other computers), serve (http, ftp, sftp, https, ssh, etc), and enjoy mac boxes. if / when there are windows computers that don't require me to click 'YES I REALLY WANT TO SEE THIS WEBSITE' every 10 seconds, and it be safe, i might consider it.
what i'm actually considering of late is an eeepc, and then installing mac os on it. awesome machine + awesome operating system = simple computing :)
