hi everyone. i finally got my paypal account. i set it up for the buy/sell one...premium or something. all i gave um was my address and stuff and my and debit card number. i did the confirmation email and everything. my status is "unvarified". does that mean anything? will i have to give them my bank account number? i have never sold with paypal b4. any of u guys that know paypal let me know...
thanks,
calvin
Usually, you do have to give bank info because that is how your account gets "verified". Many ebayers will not send to an "unverified" account. I have sent and recieved money on paypal and never had to do any premium stuff. I like paypal it's fast, convenient and safe. Once, had a guy not send the goods reported it to them they immediately returned the money! Kinda funny how the dude said I gave him the wrong address yet his hate mail made it to me just fine :dunno_white: Guess, paypal punished him or something actually I think they took it out of his account after him not being able to produce any info on his end of the deal.
Don't buy the premium unless you're doing a great deal of buying or selling. anyother questions post 'em up

oh thanks. i just want to sell a few parts to mmbers here and my 3-wheeler on ebay....and whatever thing im signed up 4 is free. so i dont need varification?? money can be transfered to my account with just my debit card?
The way verification works is you give them the info and they will deposit a few cents in it to make sure it is a valid account. You can add your debit card but I think you really need the checking to get verified. I mean with guys here if you got a high post count but usually it is how they know they won't get scamed. Like in the previous post it is to protect you and the buyer. I mean if bought something from someone who didn't produce wouldn't you want your money back that is how paypal insures it. I've had them for quite a few years and nothing weird has ever happened with my account. You can also deposit money into your paypal account so after verification you don't have to use any accounts or you can just have them withdraw it.
hope this helps!

it's a good idea to use a seperate (new) account for paypal stuff. that way your normal checking account will not be effected if there is an issue with a seller/buyer and -your- money.
just drop 3-400 in a new account, and when your checks arrive, etc :)
I've been a paypal member for 9 years, and I like it. You can buy all you want with a regular account. That's what I do as I only occasionally sell anything. The premium account is for people who intend to do a lot of selling. Paypal and eBay are now the same company. When I joined they were separate, but worked as partners. It takes a few days to verify your account. That's why it still says "unverified". As one of the others said, they will make two tiny deposits to your account, then you will answer the e-mail and tell them what those amounts were. Then you'll be verified. :thumb:
I set up a separate checking account that I use for Paypal. If someone complains about not receiving something from you, Paypal will lock down the account you use with them until the dispute is settled. They don't care if you need to make a house or car payment. Likewise, I never use a debit card for any purchases made over the internet. Why expose the bank account you use for living expenses for possible fraud.

aye, then to become verified, you enter in teh " deposits" made to your account via paypal, and done. it can be used without that. but nowadays many sellers are leery of unverified members
