Dear Revere,
Please come back. I found your psychosis entertaining. Reading your posts was like watching a disaster in slow motion. Has the show finally reached it's conclusion? What's happened? Did someone videotape it?
:dunno_white:
Pablo banned him........again. He said that you can all lick his armpits when last I emailed him.
Yeah...way back when, we knew him as Old Man Wilson. Everything he posted was inflammatory and offensive. He affectionately became known as simply OMW. He finally went and got himself permabanned, and he was gone for a long time. When he finally showed himself again as 'revere', it didn't take a lot to figure out it was him.
If you didn't take him seriously, he was entertaining. However, if you tried to rebut anything he said, all heck would break loose.

and it seemed to bother nobody. even most of teh staff here knew it was him
What did he do to get banned? Must have been pretty out-there, considering the last few things that he posted.
IIRC one particular person on this forum took offense to his postings. and permabanned him, idk if that is the case, its none of my business, but odds are we wont know for sure
I think I should chime in.. It was not pablo's decision to ban him. OMW / Revere2 / Revere69 was warned several times for instigating trouble on the forum. The moderators work very hard to keep things in check. We are not paid, we do this in our spare time and its a thankless job. I commend all the moderators & admins for their hard work.
If you have questions on this.. PM me.

I think I can speak for us and say thanks to all of you.
Hey, we love this forum, and are thankful for its moderators...even if we don't always agree with them (for the record, though, most of the time I do). :thumb:
i have been on many forums (musical instrument, political, firearms, etc.) and the moderators here are the most even-handed of any site i have visited. they're tolerant , allow us to rant/rave/vent to a good extent, let us have some fun whilst we're doing it- a great group of people.
to get booted here i reckon you'd have to be pretty heavy handed-and, a repeat offender.
thanks guys.
I'm a mod hare but I don't mod much at all, on a personal level i would not have banned him but i have to appreciate other points of view. Just as a matter of interest he is adamant that he is not / was not revere69.
i agree he was not revere69. but ill stand by mods decision here. even though i did enjoy his sometimes off hte wall rantings. lol i know most here did, but yes. ill also agree this group of mods lets us get awway with damn near murder :embarrassed:
he was mean :cookoo:
lol. I think there has been at least a couple times where i wanted to post somethign god aweful mean. but i simplied resisted the urge because i knew "somebody else" would. Revere never failed.
Nah, he just wanted followers. Some of you guys actually gave him what he wanted, which was kind of disturbing.
I used to wonder what his house looked like. Lots of cats and piled up newspapers?
ROFL!!!! i can seriously visualize that. Ive been in some houses liek that on med runs with the local ems....and im allergic to cats. The paramedics and emts i ride with laugh at my nervousness around that environment.

as are you sometimes frankie lol
Gone again eh...
Frankie needs a time out too from time to time, but that won't happen.
I think he just liked a "wind-up" to get a reaction, yes he did go over the top and offend some people and some other people seemed to go out of their way to be offended.
Deep breath, shrug, grow up.......I dunno, I'm a leftie atheist so I was in the target area but I kind of enjoyed a bit of light relief.

lol cal, the leftist athiests are fun to jab wiht. all kidding aside. i believe revere is gone this time for good
I think you are right.
At least in my experience, you don't push your ideals on others Cal. That's the problem here, the Left wing f%$k ups have decided that everyone should live how they think is right. Seriously, did these guys miss the entire history of this country violently revolting from strict government regulation???????

I dont know of anyone who likes o have others oush thier beliefes upon them, regardless of what they are, or who they are. Politically or religiously. Ive had Jahov's knock on my door on x-mas morning. I'll bet you my life they wont knock again.
I'm always very polite to "jumpovers" even on the feast of yule, I wouldn't want to get atheism a bad name.

Did he own a GS or was he a wondering ranter? Venting his thoughts in random forums?

I'm catholic, they already hate us so I answer the door half naked with a beer and a gun :thumb:
Yeah, Wilson has a GS.
why stop at half naked? :icon_eek:
My Lady's a catholic, perhaps I'll get her to answer the door . . . . . . .

Its no odder than many of our friends, usually one is very conservative and the other is liberal... :cookoo:
I always assumed couples were like my wife and I, both of silmiliar opinions politically, I'd blow a gasket being in a realtionship with someone who had diametrically opposing views.
As to revere you have to understand the age time and place where he comes from. My grandmother was very similiar and I have a good friend that has similiar views on life as wilson did. Most people never take the time to get to know someone that comes from such a large generational gap, we insulate ourselves in our own little world and surround ourselves with people that feed our ego's and validate our own opinions.
I'm pretty conservative, but I tend to be most attracted to the artsy liberal types :dunno_white:

See what I mean, I don't get it. I tried dating the artsy liberal types, I'd rather blow my big toe off with a .45 we just clashed way too bad it was painful and horrible.
Heh bl;ow your big toe off, and then they would tax you for it :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff: 8) [/friendly jab]
bettingpython makes a very good point very similar to what i said once before about OMW. I'm a left-of-centre thinker and my parents, my background, my geographical location and my early life experiences all contribute to that. If I had been born in the Southern U.S. at the same time with slightly different experiences, locality, parents etc,. I might well think very differently, who knows.
Yama, - yes it does make for some interesting conversations, fortunately we have a lot of common ground as well. Art, music, theatre and I am really interested in Churches as buildings and sources of historical information so when she is lighting a candle at Notre dame or somewhere I'm photographing the stained glass or something.
aye the cathedrals are inspiring places in more ways than one. considering they were built WITHOUT power tools of any kind
