I just looked at my fuel lines (thanks to all of you) and noticed that they don't look very healthy. I don't live in an area that has a bike shop. This may be a silly question but can fuel lines be purchased somewhere other than a motorcycle shop? 97 GS.

* 1/4" pink fuel line for $.95/foot
K21-8002-1:
* 1/4" black rubber fuel line for $1.35/foot
They also have transparent fuel line in various colors (or clear) by Helix. They come in 3-ft packages for $3.99 or 25-ft packages for $18.99.
If you just do a search for "fuel line" on the Chaparral site, you will get about 60 hits. Let me know if you'd like me to scan some images out of their catalog.
(I'm sure you can get this stuff elsewhere, too. I'm just too lazy to do much more research at the moment.)
I just replaced my lines. I bought the line at an AutoZone. Hope this helps and definately replace them if the don't look good and don't cross them up when you do replace them or you'll find that you don't have a reserve anymore. :cheers:

And you'll probably find that miles from the nearest gas. Murphy sucks.
Any automtive *fuel* line of the appropriate size should do the trick...
Thanks guys. I have ordered from Chaparral before and there is an Autozone in my small town. I will attempt to replace the fuel lines myself. I do have the Clymers manual and am relatively new to motorcycles. Wish me luck.

I take it the fuel lines are 1/4 in. I called a few places and was asked what size I needed (1/4, 3/8, etc.)
